About me

We are not above nature

...but part of it

Therese Håkansson

Therese Håkansson was born in Sweden 1987. She has been living together with her two daughters in Greece since 2021.

She started her photographer carrier in Sweden, specialized in children where the BabyBlossom concept was born, capturing real children peacefully sleeping in beautiful flowers.

After moving to Greece, the pandemic lockdown forced her to rethink her approach. Surrounded by the island's breathtaking nature, with it's wildlife and insects, she found new inspiration, transforming her vision into the art she creates today.

THE HEART BEHIND THE ART

As a child, I was already drawn to stillness. In blooming flowers and birdsong, I felt both calm and alive—as if I belonged to something timeless.

I often wished I could stop time and stay in those moments forever.

I carried that feeling with me, finding the same stillness in the quiet hours I spent drawing. That energy—gentle, focused, wordless—made me feel whole, and it still does.

Years later, becoming a mother deepened my sensitivity to fleeting moments. I discovered the joy of photography, a new way of seeing and preserving the quiet beauty of everyday life. Photographing my daughters became a way to pause time—just as I had longed to do back then.

I’ve always been drawn to beauty—not in perfection, but in softness, silence, and connection to Mother Nature.

I seek harmony and serenity, both in life and in my work, and I’m deeply inspired by the quiet relationships between myself, animals, and plants. Creating is how I return to that place again and again—and how I invite others to come along.

My vision

BabyBlossom was created to help children connect with nature and understand the importance of living in harmony with all forms of life. Inspired by animals sleeping in flowers, our art highlights the deep interconnection between humans, animals, and plants.

I believe that teaching children to love and respect every living being is the foundation for a more conscious and sustainable future. Nature shows us the way: plants adapt, collaborate, and give more than they take. Animals demonstrate loyalty, cooperation, and the delicate balance of ecosystems.

Even at the molecular level, we are all connected through the same biological structure. Recognizing this unity helps us act with respect and gratitude for what nature offers. Plants draw energy directly from the sun. We, in contrast, depend on other life forms. This simple truth calls us to be mindful stewards of the Earth. Let’s raise a generation that values patience, resilience, and sustainability — living not above nature, but as part of it.
